About

Stephanie Sung is responsible for the development and launch of new initiatives across various program areas. Her primary role is to influence public policies that expand economic and social mobility in underserved regions. She currently leads capacity-building efforts for community-based organizations in middle neighborhoods. Chief among her past projects is a legacy cities initiative which aimed to establish coalitions of grassroots organizations to promote inclusive urban revitalization in older industrial cities.

Previously, Ms. Sung worked at NYU's Wagner Innovation Labs, part of a consortium initiated by the White House Council for Strong Cities and Strong Communities (SC2) to provide technical assistance to economically distressed communities. She also worked as an analyst with New York City Mayor's Office of Management and Budget, focused on capital infrastructure and transportation projects. In 2014, she served on a team of graduate student consultants with Social Finance US, a social impact bond intermediary, and presented findings to the White House Office of Social Innovation.

Ms. Sung holds an MPA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where she studied urban and social policy, and a BA from NYU in Political Philosophy and English.
